Press Release – Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg
Ludwigsburg, 3rd of May 2012

The 9th PORSCHE INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ADVERTISING FILM AWARD 2012:

Curtain up for Young Creative Filmmakers

Until the 13th of July 2012 students from film schools, schools of art and design as well as apprentices in the fields of film, television and media design are called upon to submit their spots to the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in Ludwigsburg.

In recent years the contest - short: PORSCHE AWARD – established itself as a constant in the advertising film festival landscape.

For the participants the competition is an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and to demonstrate their creative potential in front of an international expert audience.

As in previous years there are two different categories for film submissions. First of all the traditional category for TV, cinema and internet advertising spots with a maximum length of 90 seconds. And secondly the category for all other advertising formats such as campaigns, branded entertainment, mobile productions or trailers. The maximum length for movies or excerpts in the second category is five minutes.

A qualified jury of high-level representatives of the international advertising industry extensively reviews the submissions and nominates the shortlist containing the ten best spots.

The jury president will be Stephan Vogel, who worked as Creative Director at Ogilvy & Mather in Frankfurt and, as the company´s CCO, is now responsible for the whole agency including their further offices in Berlin and Düsseldorf.

The directors of the ten best films will be invited to the award ceremony in Ludwigsburg at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg and to the Dr. Ing h.c.F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart on 8th November 2012.

This year the award ceremony will be presented by famous actor Ralph Herforth who starred in movies like “Knockin`on Heaven´s Door”, “Kurz und Schmerzlos” and “Der Eisbär”.

It is not until the official ceremony in the Studio 2 at the Filmakademie that the ten nominees will learn who wins one of the prestigious awards.

Traditionally, in the first category the awards are accompanied by prize money to the amount of 3,911, 2,911, 1,911 Euros.

In the second category the winner receives the New Ways Award endowed with 2,356 Euro.

All prizes are tendered by the Dr. Ing h.c.F. Porsche AG and are a reminiscence of the classic sports car Porsche 911 and the legendary Porsche 356. In addition, the international advertising trade magazine SHOTS will publish the ten shortlisted spots on their homepage.
