Information on sources of financial support for students of the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy such as the German government student assistance scheme (BAFÖG) and individual scholarships can be acquired from the registrar’s office following registration and the commencement of studies.

The goal of this workshop, financed by the Landesstiftung Baden-Württemberg Foundation, is to provide a select group of highly qualified Film Academy students with an insight into the workings of the US film industry.

The Baden-Württemberg SCHOLARSHIP offered by the Landesstiftung Baden-Württemberg Foundation is designed to promote international exchange among particularly qualified young people. The scholarship is offered to students at state institutions of tertiary education in Germany (universities, educational colleges, art and music colleges, universities of applied sciences, vocational colleges) and comparable educational institutions abroad. The scholarship is intended to be of equal benefit for students from Baden-Württemberg and students from abroad. Students in Baden-Württemberg can obtain application forms from their respective institutions; foreign students should apply at the institution they are attending in their own country. Applications must be submitted to the respective institutions by 31 March.

Each year, as part of an exchange program run in conjunction with the film academy in Lódz, a student from Poland is given the opportunity to study animation at the Film Academy. Financial support for the student, paid out in monthly installments, may be applied for at the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts.
Every year, the Stiftung Landesbank Baden-Württemberg Foundation provides financial support for six student film projects in the Directing 2 and Directing 3 courses. Total funding can amount to 15,000 euros, and this is distributed between the selected projects.

The Baden-Württemberg Film Academy Development Association’s Caligari Award provides project funding for particularly talented Film Academy students. Students from all departments and stages of study are entitled to apply by submitting treatments and film scripts. The overall sum of 25,000 euros is awarded exclusively for the realization of projects carried out in the course of study or as final submissions for graduation. Following nomination of the prize-winners by the board of the Film Academy Development Association, the successful candidates and their work are presented to an audience of representatives of the film, television and media industries in the academy's Caligari cinema.

The Karl-Steinbuch Scholarship is awarded by the foundation MFG Stiftung within the framework of the Baden-Württemberg IT and Media offensive doIT. The scholarship is intended to promote artistic and technical excellence in the IT and media field and is aimed at outstanding students in all areas of study at Baden-Württemberg's tertiary institutions who are engaged in innovative and creative IT and media projects outside their compulsory study programs.

The MFG Stiftung is a foundation that promotes non-profit projects in the fields of IT, media and film. It focuses particularly on research and development, the arts, creativity, culture, education and further education. An important part of the foundation’s work involves the creation of networks between the educational and research fields, for example by means of events (congresses, workshops) and advanced and further training programs. It provides support for innovative projects and research activities in the form of studies, scholarship programs and competitions.
