Award for young international advertising film talents
Porsche Awards 2023 presented in Ludwigsburg
The jury has decided: On Thursday evening (20 April 2023), the PORSCHE AWARDS were presented at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in Ludwigsburg. A total of three awards in three categories were presented to young international film talents at the award ceremony in the Albrecht Ade Studio. A team of FABW alumni was among the winners. The jury also awarded two special mentions for student productions from the Filmakademie.
The winner in the Short Advertising Content category was the film “Sire: MOBILE ESCALATION” (Directors: Wietger Mosch, Stan Egberts) from the Netherlands Film Academy, a celebration of books and the joy of reading despite the competition from smartphones. In addition to appreciating the film’s important theme, the jury also found the spot highly original and visually impressive.
There was also a special mention for the film FATHERHOOD (Director: Steven Tralongo): Upon learning she is pregnant with her first child, a young wife uses a global icon – McDonald`s Fries - to surprise her husband with the exciting news.
In the Long Advertising Content category, the team behind “Adventure 001: FALCONRY EXPERIENCE” from the National Film and Television School in England was awarded the sought-after trophy, which was accepted by the director Max Bach. The spot advertises an online platform providing a variety of adventure experiences. The jury loved the quintessentially British style of the film, which impresses with its entertaining quality, gentle humour, captivating charm and a relaxed atmosphere.
Another special mention was awarded to the provocative and satirical FABW production “Femannose: LADY PAINMAKER” (Director: Vanessa Stachel), in which a dominatrix struggles to inflict pain on a young woman.
In the third category Driven by Dreams, the winner was a spot that perfectly embodies the philosophy of this competition. “Child Marriage in Latin America (Awareness Spot): MOTOCICLISTA” (Production: Sterntag Film, Metropolis Films) is a German entry about a young girl that pursues her dreams despite the prospect of forced marriage. The jury members were impressed by the professional realisation and were moved by the spot’s emotional depth. The film was directed by the Filmakademie graduate Eugen Merher and a number of other FABW alumni were also part of the team. Oliver Hoffmann, Director of Marketing Communications at Porsche AG presented the award.
A special mention was also awarded to a production from the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in this category. In “MOTHER NATURE´S POWER” (Director: Nicolás Bori), a young girl is helped by a mysterious female shaman in the battle against climate change. The jury were impressed by the story and theme, as well as the film’s professional look and use of visual effects.
This year, the PORSCHE AWARDS – FOR YOUNG TALENTS IN ADVERTISING was held for the 19th time.
