The Institute of Animation of the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg is responsible for the areas of study of animation and interactive media during a programme of study relating to film + media.
In addition, the Institute is responsible for the digital postproduction (online editing, grading, mastering) of all projects made by students of the Film Academy, and is active in the fields of research & development, and organises the FMX Conference on Animation, Effects, Games and Interactive Media.
Integration into the Film Academy is a key part of the work of the Institute. The joint foundation courses in directing, screenplay writing and image design/camera, tutorials in production editing, film history and media theory, as well as cooperation with the documentary film, scenic film and promotional film areas of study, as well as intensive and fruitful cooperation with students from the Film Academy form an indispensable part of the programme of study. Students of the Film Academy have an advantage over those of other universities, as they are able to learn about animation, visual effects and interactive media as part of a wide-ranging programme of study.
