Creative Talents can try out professional AI tools in a secure environment
Ludwigsburg, 29 Juni 2026. Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg (FABW) is now partnering with the European AI platform Magnific. For Magnific, this cooperation with a film and media school is the first of its kind. Students and teaching staff can use the platform to access the latest AI tools and use them to create image, video, audio and 3D content. The strategic partnership between FABW and Magnific enables these technologies to be used in teaching and project work under real-world conditions that comply with data protection regulations.
Since 2025, FABW has been increasingly promoting engagement with AI in training, research & development. In its AI strategy, the academy focuses on an approach to the new technologies that is both open and mindful. The partnership with Magnific now puts this approach into practice in day-to-day project work. The cooperation also provides for a joint pilot project involving the mutual exchange of experiences.
Magnific is one of the leading European platforms for creative professionals. As an aggregator, the Spanish company brings together a wide range of the latest generative AI models for image, video, audio and 3D applications on a single platform. The offering is complemented by collaborative features for teams, AI-powered creative tools and an extensive selection of licensed media and design content. Agencies, studios and creatives worldwide use the platform to develop campaigns, films and digital content.
A key factor in the decision on cooperation was the framework conditions that are central to university operations: Magnific uses neither prompts nor user inputs or outputs to train AI models. Furthermore, the platform enables the transparent selection of the models used and specifies in which country data processing takes place. In doing so, it supports a traceable approach to generative AI whilst also facilitating the documentation of AI-supported processes in line with the European AI Act.
Another key criterion was the company’s European roots. Magnific is based in Málaga, Spain, and is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Among other things, the company holds ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 22301 and SOC 2 certifications. An administration system allows for the targeted management of access rights, credits, and available models.
Through this cooperation, FABW is underlining its commitment to integrating artistic creativity, technological innovation and social responsibility, and to actively shaping the future of film and media. Students are given the opportunity to test the latest AI tools under professional conditions whilst developing the skills required for their responsible use within the film and media industry.
