Project-based study & lateral entry

PROJECT-BASED STUDY

During project-based study, students specialise in one of the following in their departmental study:

  • creative production
  • international production
  • series production

With students from other departments, they develop material for film project – sometimes until the production stages. If indicated during the application process, it is also possible to specialise in animation/effects production, transmedia/games production, or promotional film production. These are assigned to the relevant department – Animation, Interactive Media, or Promotional Film. Students must write a film analysis in the 3rd year of study. Lateral entry into the 3rd year of study is possible.

LATERAL ENTRY

Lateral entry into the 3rd year of study is possible for applicants with relevant pre-qualifications (e.g. a previous diploma or BA degree). Lateral entrants take part in foundation courses in organisation, technology, and basic cinematography. Departmental teaching starts after this. Interdisciplinary activities include compulsory film history/theory seminars and writing a sequence analysis. Otherwise, teaching and project participation are the same for both lateral entry and fulltime students.
