Nana und der Geist

Haunted Mind

Haunted Mind is a sensitive portrait of Nana, a young woman living with epilepsy. While embracing life and its adventures she is constantly co
nfronted with the fear of having a seizure. Being conscious about the loss of consciousness. Constantly sensing the fear of loosing your senses. Controlling the uncontrollable. Like a ghost haunting a house epilepsy seems to haunt the mind and brain of Nana. While living in a society that demands efficiency, constant physical fitness and seems coined by a very mechanical perception of life Nana struggles to find her path of live. During one year we accompanied Nana and learned how this struggle influences and shapes her life but also drives her to go beyond „average“ bounderies and seek the adventure. Captured in metaphoric images Haunted Mind depicts two qualities of our brain: functionality and fictionalization.
