Project-based study qualifies students for careers as MOTION DESIGNERS and ART DIRECTORS and for responsible contractual or permanent collaboration with media companies, and creative/cultural institutions.
The audiovisual presentation of motion graphics and typography, logos and opera houses, promotional trailers, information and interaction design, live visuals, as well as multimedia culture and music events is a key component of media production.
International communications and digital networks have changed and expanded. Globalization, interactivity and the increasing amount of information available must be taken into account when organizing media projects. These developments are reflected at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg, and are constantly being further developed in the study programmes – especially in the project-based study relating to MOTION DESIGN.
Interdisciplinary collaborations – for example with the interactive media, film direction, TV journalism, promotional film, film music and film sound/sound design departments – create a balance between applied and experimental/research-based ways of working. In addition to the conventional role of the motion designer – to clarify content, effectively process it, and to position it – it has become more and more important to further expand the experimental projects in the MOTION DESIGN specialism.
Motion design is offered as a two-year project-based study course (lateral entry), and cannot be studied without an undergraduate degree.
