Atelier Ludwigsburg-Paris

The Atelier Ludwigsburg-Paris is a one-year further education programme for trainee European film producers and distributors, which has been running since 2001. It is offered by the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg in cooperation with La Fémis in Paris and the National Film and Television School in London. Renowned teaching staff from the film and media industries teach in the production and distribution departments. The Atelier Ludwigsburg-Paris offers a programme of study in the fields of financing, promotion, screenplay writing, calculation, production planning, filming, contract law, rental and global distribution, which is unique to Europe.

Every year, nine short films with a common theme are made at the Atelier Ludwigsburg-Paris. These films are Franco-German co-productions which are produced by ARTE, the SWR, Film Academy Baden-Württemberg, and La Fémis. In addition to premiers in Ludwigsburg and Paris, all films are shown, inter alia, at the Max Ophüls Festival, and broadcast on the television channel ARTE.

More information on the Atelier can be found on the Film Academy’s website here.
