FICTION ALEXA - LA FÉMIS

Each academic year, a team of Filmakademie students at the French national film school La fémis creates a short film around 15 minutes long. The film is made as part of the third-year production course at La fémis. Teams of six (director, script, camera (2x), editing, production) students from Ludwigsburg are required to make a joint application. Part of the application process involves the presentation of a story that would be realised in Paris. And it is in Paris that the students are then supervised, together with local students. Pre-production and production of the film take place from early September until shortly before Christmas, and post-production is completed at the Filmakademie. The programme comes to a close with a joint presentation of all films, usually in April of the following year.

The programme costs are covered by the Baden-Württemberg SCHOLARSHIP’s specialist film production track. This includes the production budget, the costs of supervision at La fémis, and the costs of renting an apartment in Paris for the duration of the programme. Scholarships are disbursed exclusively in the form of these non-cash benefits.

Applications are open to Filmakademie students who are in their second year at the time of the announcement.
