Every spring semester, the International Class (ICLA) offers a practice-oriented curriculum to students from the Filmakademie’s partner institutions. The diverse English-language course is pitched at the level of the third year, and imparts the skills of cinematic storytelling in the interdisciplinary and intercultural space. It is a general studies course in storytelling through film, open to students of all film crafts and cultural backgrounds.

The group of up to twenty students spends the spring semester at the Filmakademie, and there are numerous points of contact with the Filmakademie’s regular students. The objective of the International Class is to form a sustainable network for the Filmakademie’s guests and regular students. 

Applications for ICLA can only be submitted through the Filmakademie’s partner institutions. It is not possible to apply directly.
