Scientific Research Project

From the beginning of the 4th year of study, and by the end of December at the latest, each TD student researches three technical/scientific project topics which s/he wants to address more intensively. Each TD student will be supported by a colleague from the Research & Development department.

  • Project Topic 1 is freely selectable, and should focus on a publication.
  • Project Topic 2 should be based on ongoing or completed research and development work.
  • Projekt-Thema 3 befasst sich mit der Erweiterungen zu bestehenden Open-Source und Open-Format Projekten

In the 12 months that follow, one of these topics will be realised, implemented, and possibly extended, so that it can be published at conferences. An important part of this project is that the developed tools can actually be used in the Film Academy’s productions. For this reason, the source code should be managed by the AI-SVN, and a basic description of the creation of the tools and their (GUI) functionality should be provided in the wiki. The documentation should be in English.

Diploma module 2: Concept & art

In the fourth year of study, the diploma projects are planned in detail and implemented. Up to the Christmas break in the 4th year of study, the best ideas are fully developed and presented in a project portfolio.

Diploma module 3: Pre-production

All artistic and production issues must have been resolved by the end of the Winter semester in the 4th year of study.
